Rite of Christian Initation for Adults (RCIA)

Journey in Faith

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an ongoing four-step program within parish life.  The program is specifically designed for non-Catholics wishing to become Catholic, for Catholic adults who have not received the Sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation or Confirmation, and also for Catholics who have been away from the faith for some time.  Their quest is to explore the Catholic Church's traditions and beliefs, having a desire to deepen their relationship with God.  We currently have several people in this process of preparing to be received into the Catholic Church at the upcoming Easter Vigil.  As new members are welcomed into the Church, at the same time it is important to lead every Catholic parishioner to a greater depth of spirituality.

Anyone interested in the RCIA program should contact the Rectory at 716-937-6959 and they will be contacted from the RCIA team to coordinate the program.  The program begins with an Inquiry State and the Team meets regularly throughout the year.  The celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) for the catechumans and candidates can take place during the Easter Vigil Liturgy in the parish.
