6th, 7th, 8th Grades (Edge Program)
Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students attend class on SATURDAYS 9am-10:30am
Classes began Saturday, September 15, 2018. Students must be registered before being accepted into class.
Contact Faith Formation for more information 716-937-6959.
Please view the Policy Booklet tab which includes class dates and special events on last pages.
The students and their family are welcome and encouraged to join our 11 am Sunday Youth Masses.
If a 6th-12th grade student would like to participate in the Mass by being a Greeter, Reader (Lector),
Gift Bearer, Usher, or sing in Youth Choir, please contact Mr. Brandon Adkins at Youth Ministry at least one week before Mass.
HOMESTUDY (Grades 6-8): Full year homestudy is an option for those students who are not able to commit to attending classes on a weekly basis. A packet is given to a parent to read and discuss with the student and write short answers to discussion questions and return packet to Individual Education Coordinator at designated times. There are 2 packets to complete during the school year. No testing required. Many families find it is a great opportunity to share their faith, however, it takes a great time commitment. Please contact the Faith Formation Office about this option.
INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION: Students who have missed a year or more of Religious Education classes must meet with the Individual Education Coordinator. This situation will then be discussed with each family and a recommendation of either one-on-one tutoring or home-study will be decided upon. They cannot progress to their next grade unless all requirements are met. Please contact the Faith Formation Office for more information.
YOUTH GROUP: Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are welcome and encouraged to be involved in our Youth Ministry Program to enhance their religious experiences.
CELL PHONE USE: We understand that there are certain situations where the students need to use a cell phone. A classroom setting is not one of them. Please make it clear to your child that the use of a cell phone for calls, texting, or photography is not allowed. If you child is sick and need to get in touch with you, that can be done in the Religious Education Office. The use of these devices is very distracting in class, not only for the user, but also for the rest of the class as well. If a student uses the cell phone in class, it will be collected by the teacher and after class, it will be returned when a parent comes to the office to retrieve it.
May God continue to bless you and your family!
